Biography:

Cortez Scales was born and raised in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. At a young age he always had a passion for dogs, as some of his family members owned some. At the age of 11 he owned his first dog, which was just a stray that he took in off the streets. BeBe was the name he gave her and she was part of the start that left a feeling in him knowing that he wanted to care for dogs.  Moving right along in life at the age of 18 Cortez Scales decided to join the military and serve his country. He went into the United States Navy in the year of 1999 where he served onboard of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower for 5 years. While in the military he began planning and researching everything that he could about breeding. The first breed that Cortez fell in love with happened to be a large breed dog, “Rottweiler”.  He was only allowed two in the housing that he resided in at the time with his family.  At that time he had one child Cortez Jr. that was basically born into the hobby. Cortez would take his son everywhere when he knew he was going to see a dog or puppies. He said that this was so important to him because that would give Cj the experience to handle a puppy. We all know that kids can be a little rough around the edges when handling a puppy. Fast forwarding, Cortez got out the military in 2004 working a fulltime job as cable-technician. Although he enjoyed the job it did not fully fill his dreams.  He bounced around from jobs like satellite, warehouse manager, bank protection officer, and cable representative. None of these jobs gave him the excitement of being a breeder.

Since 2003, Cortez has been breeding as a hobby breeder and in early 2010 he went fulltime with his hobby. It has been very rewarding to him as he has been able to be a blessing to families all over the world. He has puppies In New York, Georgia, Alabama, Virginia, St. Louis, Alaska, Louisiana, and North Carolina where he now resides with his family and friends. He has a strong supporting staff and team that is knows the importance to being able to bless others with these puppies. Everyone from the kids on up play a major part in us providing the best puppies for families. His motto is “I love what I do,” and if you have met any of his customers or families that know him they will tell you the same thing about him. He doesn’t just sale you a puppy. You become part of his family when you get one. He goes well and beyond to make sure all of his pups are receiving the best care from their new parents. He lets them know to always keep his number on speed dial to text any concerns or questions they may need. So if you are considering a breeder know that if you choose Cortez, you are not just choosing one for just a purchase but one for a lifetime!
